Today was certainly one of the more interesting days in the EuroLeague, with the plethora of competitions happening around the continent and many young Euroletes showing their NBA potential in the process.

Let's start out at Poland, where 7-0 Igor Kreshhnev of Leich Manstadt managed 11 pts, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks against Tetsch Lavkos. Kreshhnev has been developing a certain degree of consistency and is showing more aggressiveness in his all-around game. He already is a dominant and imposing presence defensively against the immature competition Poland presents, but now he is starting to show some true flashes. His Polish teammate Durham Steiden scored 17 pts on 6-13 shooting as well, exhibiting good shot selection and a natural feel for the game. He is a player who he will watch out for eventually as he is still a bit too young. In a separate game, Laust Vrangen showcased Enzerev Polatak who utilized his fundamentals post game to the tune of 10 points on 5-6 shooting.

Felix Merres compiled a wonderful game for Ivianas Lantaros with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. His drive and athleticism is virtually unparalleled in the Spanish league and he is maximizing his ability and helping his team win relatively easy against the poor competition Spain presents, once again. He has also shown some passing ability and has looked for his teammates at times taking away some of his shot opportunities. Elsewhere in Spain, Salvo Gispi of Lagos Surreptitia displayed good court vision and floor general skills in handing 6 assists to his teammates in a win agaisnt Kalia Voppa. In nearby country Portugal, Erzmaran Savejos displayed some raw offensive skills, utilizing his height to the tune of 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists.

In France, Jakim Dupas, a 6-5 athletic freak shooting guard out of France who has started to carve a name for himself due to a couple of good games over the past few weeks, had 14 points on 6-10 shooting along wtih 3 steals against Veine Balil. Dupas always needed to polish his all-around game as he had a huge tendency to rely on his athleticism and poor judgment, but he has started to improve his drives toward his basket. His next move would be to improve his jumpshot and ballhandling skills. Slalaine Pieters, a 6-8 big man with relative athleticism, also had 12 points and 7 rebounds for France, setting his consistent tone once again. Elsewhere in France, all-around Mickael Orgene of Versaine Majurie had 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks leading the way against Uries Amories. Nearby Italy saw Ivan Motlev score 12 points with his silky smooth stroke against Taus Vertaine, and Valli Scamparey showed off his wingspan in a 7 point, 5 block performance against Motlev's team.

Let's go to Yugoslavia, where Selem Verjo displayed flashes of an all-around offensive game to the tune of 17 points and 2 rebounds against Bellio Forte. His teammate Dubei Seranine did not do as much but had 7 points and 7 rebounds on a couple of nice post moves, but he quickly got into foul trouble. Elsewhere in Yugoslavia, Yanny Nezgarov had 19 points, 4 assists and 2 steals and his teammate, 5-11 Iokan Lujerev had an intriguing passing game with 5 points and 8 assists. And yet another Yugoslavian PG, Ergy Salari, had another wonderful game for Laplon in a tight game against Verish, and although his shot was off (3-10), he produced 12 points and 4 assists displaying good intensity, clutchness and solid play. In another game, Jez Yorev had a horrible game as his draft stock is plummeting with 3 points on 1-5 shooting along with 4 assists and 1 rebound, while his competitor of Veltair Lambardos, Jure Kimensev, dominated the painted area with 14 points and 7 rebounds.

In Croatia, Avala Geothe displayed his hustle once more to the tune of 13 points, 5 rebounds and 1 steal, and his fellow giant Vakadi Biornen had 8 points as well on 4-5 shooting. Forap Rensur displayed his un-European like ferocity and aggressiveness in a 12 point, 13 rebound, and 3 block game against Balika Virgil for Croatia as well.

In Estonia Mojinev Khratstovev continues to show he is a project with 1 point on 0-3 shooting and 2 blocks. In Hungary, Tergo Selny did not have his best game, but still showed his versatility and all-around fundamentals with 6 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in a solid beating of Monmazil, and his 6-1 consummate PG, Idevi Surein, produced 12 points and 7 rebounds of pure hustle, although he still lacks the athleticism and ballhandling skills to make it to the league.

Germany also had an interesting crop of performances. Micos Schremvelt, for Adelis Acapulco, strung in a nice performance with 13 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists after going 1-6 from the field with 4 points against Jermur Vallazaine. Many things didn't show up on the stat sheet, however, as he continually used his long arms to deflect passes and showed off his athleticism to snatch rebounds and interfere with shots. Germany's ultra-athletic young player Vans Hollerein of powerhouse Vatish Vogue had an up-and-down game today with 11 points on 3-10 shooting with 6 rebounds and 3 turnovers, while his teammate Paulus Jeffny didn't fare much better with 9 points, missing 4 of 6 free throws.

In Russia, Dmitri Vandervallis and Ivan Kandesi both had 12 points apiece as Slomans Dodde blew out Shapiriev Lazan by 30 points. Both guards used their inside-outside game to get defenders off balance. St. Petersburg's Talaki Shorei showed off a great shooting touch today, capping off a 15 point performance on 3-5 three pointers. Karev Doden also had a nice game alongside Shorei with 16 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.

Lithuania also had Erdrich Tarev and Andreas Luzio, the twin towers and 7-footers on their own right, produce opposit egames: Tarev displayed a decent offensive display with 17 points on 7-16 shooting and 5 rebounds, and Luzio produced 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Luzio is a kid we're going to watch out for, as he's still very young and has shown some rebounding and shotblocking skills equivalent to that of the NBA.

In Greece, the Georgian giant Jafur Mhazgury displayed some raw offensive skills but mostly his 7'5" wingspan once again, dominating defensively and altering many of the opposing SG's shots. His presence alone on the court was a game-changer and Mhazgury received a lot of praise from teammates and competitors alike after the game. Salivekos Orikalkos of Greece, a 6'3" shooting guard, scored 20 points displaying some uncanny moves in handling Mhazgury's presence. Delios Mantinezzos, a 6'6" combo wing, who showed interest in the draft in recent years but lacks the athleticism to make it, also displayed his all-around rebounding and passing game with 4 rebounds and 5 assists, but only with 4 points as scoring has always been a detriment to his game. In another game at Greece, Sumy Vezghev of Turkey showed some all-around skills with a 14 point, 3 rebound, 6 assist, and 2 steals outing at Belle de Montpeigh, and his 6-4 athletic counterpart Matthias Morten had a mini-breakout with 9 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks.

That's all the games for now, but stay tuned as we keep track of more draft prospects and breakout performers.
