NBA Comparison: Kirk Hinrich
Strengths: A very tough PG who is well known around Yugoslavia...The son of a renowned Yugoslavian
coach in Batiss Salari and you can certainly tell by the way he plays the game...Has loads of international experience against
the top European teams...Very good offensive game. Can spot up for the three pointer and has various crossover abilities to
get to the basket...Very good mid-range shooter as well...Good free throw shooter (80%)...Rarely takes bad shots, understands
the team concept and tries to get everyone involved...Makes equally good decisions in half-court sets and transition game...Solid
but not spectacular court vision, will find the open man though...Rarely turns the ball over...Tough as nails on defense.
Always tries to stick on his man, plays contain defense and makes the opponent take the shot over him...Gets by screens well...A
very good locker presence and generally a leader...Plays with heart and pride, and takes his game up a notch against better
competition...
Weaknesses: Not super in anything he does, but his game is already tailor-made for the NBA level...Shooting
can get streaky at times, although it's a matter of his own destiny; it looks like he controls his own shooting, sometimes
he can shoot over defenders at will and make those shots...Not super good at getting to the basket, has mixed results; doesn't
possess a good first step or long strides...Inconsistent scorer. Sometimes he shows up, sometimes he doesn't...Not physically
gifted, relies more on effort for defense; doesn't have blow-away speed, leaping ability, long arms, etc....Bases his game
more on fundamentally sound concepts rather than athletic plays, and this may look his game look better suited for Europe
rather than for the NBA...Not a flashy passer, for better or for worse...Can still get blown by on defense by lead NBA athletic
guards...More foul prone than the average NBA PG...Older than the average draftee, at 23 years old already...
