NBA Comparison: Dan Gadzuric
Strengths: Very aggressive player who looks to block every shot, and has the wingspan, length and
athleticism to do it...Has some bounce in his step defensively...Extremely long arms, supposedly a 7'2" wingspan...Relishes
guarding the paint and preventing easy shots such as layups...Likes to make the defensive statement. Can block shots up to
the 5th row...If he has no chance, will take a hard foul to prevent the shot...Very nice mobility for a big man, evident in
his good movements defensively...Unlike most bigs he will actually step up and guard perimeter players...Has suction-cup hands
and has shown some penchance for rebounding every once in a while...Offensively coming along, has developed a decent turnaround
hook shot and some basic post moves, which if relatively unguarded, he will convert into layups or dunks...Once he develops
his offensive game, capable of getting many dunks at the next level given his fire and tenacity...
Weaknesses: Extremely raw offensively and somewhat raw defensively. Defensively, tries to make a
statement every time, and if often reliant upon his athleticism to block shots...Gets most of his blocks from the weakside...Smarter
players would use pump-fakes, smart moves, and body contortions which could easily throw him off his defensive game and get
him into foul trouble...Gets abused on post defense due to his lack of weight, he doesn't really relish contact, he just relishes
getting blocks out of nowhere...Thus he needs to hit the weight and put in another 20 lbs or so, and he has a body capable
of gaining weight...Offensively, only has a few basic post moves and gets easy buckets but absolutely no jumpshot to speak
of; due to his lack of weight he can't reciprocate those moves in the NBA...Lacks touch and finesse. He thinks the game is
all about aggression...Can run the floor but stands a bit too upright and thus looks awkward in the process...Sometimes he
needs to reign that fire a bit, because he possesses quite poor body language and often gets frustrated when his team is losing,
he may feel that he is putting all his effort in for nothing, and he would need to adjust that mindset...Scouts have known
him perhaps a bit too well, he is a veteran of the testing the draft waters, and each year he has been turned back, so the
odds that he will drastically improve his game to impress scouts are a bit slim...Quite old, will be 23 on draft day and his
lack of polish is quite alarming...
