France produced a number of impressive games today by its top youngsters. Arguably the #1 prospect in France, Antoine Surronay produced 17 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks against Bartan Lomeri. This is the 12th consecutive double-digit scoring game Surronay has attained, and although playing against junior competition, his consistency topped with all his talent is simply remarkable. Mickael Orgene of Versaine Majurie filled up the stat sheet today with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 4 blocks against Raule Pompecos. Jeremiah Hennessy, who plays in the same team with Orgene, hustled extremely well and used his raw athleticism to hit 15 points and 6 rebounds, including some fairly impressive dunks in the open court. Onto the Nice region of France, Jakim Dupas had an off-night with only 5 points on 2-9 shooting, but his fellow teammate Ornslaw Clace, a 6-10 post man, had 11 points and an impressive 16 rebounds. Unfortunately for Clace, this has been his first productive game in a very long time and thus doesn't look appealing as a draft prospect. Elsewhere in the Louvre region, Yiago Heiness continues to make his case as an NBA prospect by scoring 22 points on 9-14 shooting, using his speed and athleticism to get many layups. His point guard skills and range still need work, however. Bartholomieu Vauger's Vaumonde Forde had 7 points, 2 assists and 6 steals against Napoli, and teammate Anthonieu MontCerrie, a 6'6" 220 lb. physical specimen (1986 born) also played impressive defense as well, compiling 8 points and 4 steals with his long wingspan and quick hands. MontCerrie is extremely athletic but is extremely passive and unselfish offensively, and is currently seen as a one-dimensional defensive player despite all his latent talent. Augo Bercher had 12 points in a win over LaGrande as well.

On the Russian front, Karev Doden had the most impressive game and a very important one against powerhouse Slomans Dodde  in a well-anticipated matchup. Doden had 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals, going 10-12 from the stripe as St. Petersburg narrowly edged out Slomands Dodde for the victory. Doden's teammate, Talaki Shorei, was a decent contributor as well with 13 points and 6 rebounds on 2-6 three pointers, but mostly deferred to Doden once his teammate got hot. On Slomans Dodde, Dmitri Vandervallis was impressively held down by Doden to boot, only scoring 9 points (7 below his season average) on 3-13 shooting and 4 turnovers. Vandervallis usually takes more shots than that, but due to Doden's long arms and impressive defense, he had to pass up many with some leading to turnovers. Ivan Kandesi, his guard sidekick, didn't provide much help, with 4 assists and 3 turnovers himself. Ernst Polyn, the 6-11 center on Slomans Dodde however (1986 born), scored well against little defense by Shorei, scoring a team-high 15 points and accumulating 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. However, the talk after the game was Karev Doden, and it's easy to see how firmly he is establishing himself as a lotto pick lock. In Magnum Rov, headstrong Ivan Tetorev produced 18 points, 5 assists and 2 steals in a blowout against Siev Verjin. Siev Verjin's Dmitri Karvak had 7 points on 3-7 shooting, but had a steal and 3 blocks. Mufarv Jenkev, a 6-9 post, led Siev Verjin in scoring with 16 points but only 3 rebounds. In the far western portion of Russia, 1984 prospect Saiv Kanjuri, a 6-5 wing, shot his way to a nice game with 14 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. He's still relatively unpolished and doesn't possess NBA fundamentals, but his shooting is a nice asset for any team. Boris Horsburg, Kanjuri's teammate, had 12 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists in the losing effort. Looking at junior competition, Drei Kurokas did not impress only having 8 points, 3 assists and 2 steals on 3-11 shooting. His jumpshot and passing is a work in progress. However, Pavlar Omeri, a 7-2 center (born 1990), showed some sparks with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.

In Germany, Vans Hollerein really got loose for Vatish Vogue, scoring 21 points and having himself 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in a winning effort against Lecupvalle. Hollerein impressed with his speed, constantly beating his man off the dribble for athletic layups and dunks. Paulus Jeffny had a solid double double as well with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Micos Schremvelt for Adelis Acapulco had an okay game, with 10 points and 4 assists, but looked out of control and didn't look adjusted to the game all too often. Rave Monta, a 6-9 combo forward, though, is starting to establish himself as a decent 1987 prospect after finishing with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals, 3-3 from three pointers.

That's all for the French-German-Russian front for this week. More to come with further analysis of draft prospects as they impress us throughout the EuroLeague.
