NBA Comparison: Tim Thomas

Strengths: Athletic big man with who relishes playing in the perimeter...Doesn't have NBA three point range yet, but is steadily developing a very consistent 20-foot jump shot which goes in more often than not, and thus certainly has the potential to expand his range...Has made great strides in expanding his range from 10 feet to 15 to 20 feet over the past couple of years in high school...Likes to use the angles as well. Banks the shot off the glass and knows how to adjust his shot to fit the appropriate range...Also possesses a good first step which he uses to attack the basket, and long arms and quick reactions make his shot hard to block...When he's focused, normally makes shots...Runs the floor well...Possesses good athletic tools, such as wingspan, height, and good reach, which could potentially make him a good defensive player at the next level...

Weaknesses: Many concerns on whether Vacceri would make it to the NBA level. First of all is his weight, which is highly noticeable at first glance--he is only 188 lbs. at the time of this report, and he severely needs to bulk up, at least gain 30-40 more lbs. to at least become a combo forward at the next level...With that kind of weight tends will even get pushed around by average athletes...Doesn't hold his ground well even at the high school level...On defense, he rarely plays with passion. Never seems to put effort, not even on rotations, and just roams around looking lost on the defensive end, despite his potential in it...Has been accused of being a "soft" player before, and he probably is because he doesn't relish contact, doesn't like to bang in the paint when his high school team needs him to, and prefers to take most of his shots on the outside...Literally no post game as of yet, most of his shots are from the perimeter and occasionally he will drive...Besides scoring, really doesn't contribute at any aspect of the game; everything else besides that is really based on potential...Horrible rebounding ability despite his size, and his lack of weight certainly won't help him...Quite a selfish player. Looks to take shots, and although that provides his team a spark, it certainly doesn't help team cohesiveness...Lacks great work ethic and hunger, there are many talented players like him beforehand who haven't made it to the league because of that...Has had attitude problems throughout the course of his high school season and is a known headcase, which makes it questionable whether he would succeed in the league...

Notes: Is committed to Kansas for his freshman season next year...Has stated that he would like to enter the draft as soon as possible.

Other Comparisons: If he really succeeds and learns to utilize his skills he can really become a Rasheed Wallace-type player.
