NBA Comparison: Kevin Martin
Strengths: Has such great scoring instincts at such a young age which he is able to translate to
the college level flawlessly...Moves effortlessly off the ball and does most of his damage there, as he plays with playmaking
PGs who are able to pass him the ball for easy layups and dunks...Capable of beating his matchups toward the basket with good
speed and switch of gears...Possesses very smooth athleticism which he is able to utilize well both offensively and defensively...Good
hang in the air while attempting layups, which helps him to absorb contact (despite his weight) and finish at times...Good
body control and fairly smart at being able to draw contact...Possesses a very solid mid-range shot and is fine-tuning his
college three pointer, improving game by game...Above average standstill shooter...Can be an energetic player at times, hustling
and using his long arms (6'11" wingspan) to get steals...Enjoys running at fastbreaks...Potential to become a very nice defender
in the NBA...Can be an amazingly good rebounder at times, using his speed to beat the bigs...Avoids foul trouble almost every
game...Good reputation, considered to be a hard worker and was not highly recruited, but he has rose and piqued the interest
of scouts this season...
Weaknesses: His energy level is relative to the number of touches he gets at Pittsburgh...When he
doesn't touch the ball much, his energy level suffers at well and he does not make much of an impact...Can be invisible and
disappear for stretches within the game, and also be inconsistent from game to game as well, although it may be a freshman
thing...Lack of energy level can be prevalent in lack of hustling, lack of defensive effort, missed open jumpshots, more standing
around in offensive schemes, etc...Not a super freak athlete who would wow with flashy dunks, but has more than enough to
stand his ground in the NBA...Everything in his game can be quite inconsistent, including his rebounding...Not a good passer
as of now, hasn't shown much court vision but that's not his job...Only average ballhandling skills right now, not too strong
at taking his man off the dribble towards the basket, prefers to beat his weaker or slower defensive matchups...Can be turnover
prone at times...Cannot shoot off the dribble as of now...Three point shooting (NBA range) would need some work...Has a very
weak body right now and doesn't look like he can take any more weight...
