NBA Comparison: Al Jefferson
Strengths: A big man with quite a refined offensive game in the low post area...Knows how to back
his man down using his strength and has a couple of nice moves, such as a sweeping hook shot and a good drop step...Knows
how to inch closer to the basket with his moves to maximize his field goal percentages...At least in the college level, gets
many layups and dunks...His offensive moves were nonexistent the past year, and he really worked hard over the summer to improve
his moves, a testament to his work ethic...Has shown flashes of brilliance on the offensive end this season...NBA-wise, already
possesses a solid build for the PF position...Has put 20 lbs over the summer as well and can absorb the rigors of the NBA
game both on offense and defense...Quite a powerful player, imposes his will and normally gets his way agaisnt smaller bigs
because of that...Defensively hard to move and does a good job attempting to contest shots, sometimes blocking several of
them...Fairly nice rebounder, does a good job boxing out and corraling boards with power and strength...
Weaknesses: Offensive game is only suited to the low post right now where he does most of his damage,
but it's a bit hard to see whether he will have the same success in that area in the NBA, given that there will be more athletic
and bigger PFs...Lacks any semblance of a jumpshot. Colorado mostly utilizes him as a post pivot so he hasn't really developed
much in this area, anything 10 feet and beyond is virtually a guaranteed miss...Only shoots 56% from the stripe...Offensively,
even in the post, his lack of ballhandling skills is a weakness. Draws double and triple teams and doesn't react well to them,
sometimes getting stripped of the ball to get turnovers...Not good at passing out of double teams either...Quite foul prone
in every game, although he still manages to play at least 30 minutes...Lacks great athleticism and mobility. Quite a slow
player, not really a transition player, and tends to use power over athleticism...Doesn't run the floor particularly well,
usually the last man back...Not really an intimidator on defense, just puts his hands up but doesn't really get blocks...Cannot
corral rebounds that are out of his range due to slowness...
