NBA Comparison: Orien Greene
Strengths: Very humble, modest guard who is willing to give up his share of shots to let others shoot
the ball, constantly unselfish...Always plays under control, never takes any risk plays...A natural PG, with great height
and a solid build for it...Possesses very nice ballhandling skills and passing skills, the latter of which he doesn't utilize
enough...Rarely turns the ball over...A system player who blends well within the half-court set...Very high basketball IQ,
knows how to handle full-court traps and defenses well and always makes the right pass...Best attribute non-potentialwise
is his man-to-man defense; harasses his opponents in to bad shots very often and never risks his defensive position...Has
good physical tools, such as wingspan and quick hands, although he doesn't use them to get much steals...Has been groomed
properly into a solid player in UCLA...However, what is most intriguing about him is his untapped potential; has a lot of
athleticism and bounce in his step which UCLA seems to have restricted in his game...In the rare times he attacks the basket
displays good first step and the ability to finish even with contact...Combine this with the maturity in his game (lack of
turnovers, basketball IQ) and that could potentially be a nice combination in the NBA...Has solid shooting mechanics and NBA
three point range, and the potential to become a solid shooter...
Weaknesses: His game hasn't been fully displayed in the college level because it has been groomed
in the way his coach wanted it to be...Not a super passer, but he is a pure PG due to his unselfishness and his decent ability
to get assists...Probably will need the right situation to thrive in the NBA, as the style he plays in the college game isn't
exactly suitable in the NBA; needs to use his athleticism more....Better at man-to-man defense than off-the-ball, lacks great
speed on defense (it is more evident offensively)...Never really tries to get into transition game at college, although he
can certainly do so...Quite an unselfish player, there are games where he plays more than 10 minutes and he doesn't even take
a single shot...Needs to develop more of a mean streak and a killer instinct offensively...Jumpshot can be a bit inconsistent
at times...Free throw shooting needs some improvement (66%), although this may be due to his lack of a role offensively...Has
had some off-the-court problems in the past but that seems to be over with...
Notes: Came into UCLA a top 100 recruit...Graduated cum laude in economics and sociology...Has won
over many high school awards s PG for his Fairfax Pomona team...

Tommy Lorcay has thrived so far in the UCLA program. He had a reputation for being an very good athletic
man-defender with true PG skills in college, and he's only beginning to scrape the surface of his potential. Recently he has
taken on a role his coach asked of him--to become more a playmaker and defender for UCLA, since they have a lot of good offensive
players, and he has done well so far. He is willing to adjust his game and learn more, staying humble at the same time. There
is no doubt in my mind this guy will have a solid NBA career when all is said and done.
