NBA Comparison: Nick Van Exel
Strengths: A self-made player who enjoys making things happen on the offensive side of the court...Pure
playmaker. Puts a lot of zip into his passes and makes them usually before the defense reacts...Very good at getting his big
men easy baskets...More than capalble of flashy passes, enjoys the no-look pass as well as throwing lobs in half-court sets...Gets
a lot of assists per game and hones a good assist per turnover ratio...Clever ballhandling skills, never really exposes the
ball to defenders and keeps his dribble constant and low...Offensively, likes to spot up for the three pointer in transition,
and is certainly capable of making them...Takes and makes a lot of three pointers...Uses craft to get to the lane where he
has a very nice teardrop...Very clutch player. Wants responsibility at the end of games and has won a lot of games with his
clutch plays...Can be a huge sparkplug for any team with the way he plays...
Weaknesses: The other end of the court. Lacks athleticism, bounce, a good first step, strength of
any sort, a long wingspan, etc. to make a difference...Rarely puts effort on defense and constantly gets lost off screens,
doesn't play the zone well at all...Many opposing PGs have torched him in the past...Lacks great height as well for the NBA...Not
super at creating off the dribble, prefers to spot up mostly or get to the lane...Offensively, a bit too ball-dominant. Likes
to mix-and-match with passes and scoring, and can be a bit me-first at times although he certainly has the skills to be an
NBA PG...Can have a very streaky shot at times...Doesn't like to make passes where he won't get the assist, and seemingly
likes to get the "bigs" more involved rather than his fellow perimeter players...
