NBA Comparison: Joel Pryzbilla
Strengths: Center whose main purpose in his mid-major team is simply doing the dirty work...In shotblocking,
possesses great reaction time, lateral movement and pestering arms to block and alter a lot of shots...Very solid weakside
defender, cleans up his team's defensive lapses well...Doesn't leap off his feet for pump fakes, has a good feel for what
his opponent is going to do and accordingly plays the right defense on it...Unlike most centers he actually can step out to
the perimeter and move his feet well to guard smaller players...Good mobility and quickness for a big man on defense...Decent
man-to-man defender, has the height and weight to body up his man well...A rebounding machine as well, got 15+ rebounds 6
times last season...Cleans up the glass well and never takes off a possession...Tries to get as many opportunities to get
garbage points as possible, whether off put-backs or easy dunks...Looks the part of an NBA center...
Weaknesses: Against certain opponents, he has a tendency to become foul prone, and that completely
throws him off his game...Once saddled with foul trouble, his defensive intensity increases five-fold and he becomes a bit
passive, has had the "soft" label before...Some games he plays very little minutes and is rendered ineffective due to foul
trouble...Not a particularly good offensive rebounder, doesn't pursue that as much...Man defense is worse than his weakside
defense, but with added weight/strength that would improve...When he chases guards at the perimeter has a tendency to give
the opposing big men easy baskets (although that's more of his team's fault)...Very undeveloped offensive game, because that
wasn't his primary job at Nevada. Doesn't have much range outside of 5 feet, and only looks to get garbage points...Horrible
free throw shooter (47%)...Not much of an offensive threat...
