Javon is a big man who prefers to play out in the perimeter. Gifted shooter, if he's open and in form the shot is absolutely money. Can drain threes and simply lower the opposition's morale with it. Also has a knack for clearing rebounds, carried over during his freshman year in UAB when Coach Tom Troy asked him to show more rebounding prowess. Javon is willing to learn and improve many aspects of his game, and understands the concept of possessions and getting defensive rebounds. Very good defender as well, can get blocks from the weakside with good rotations and has some stealing power. His game really reminds of Donyell Marshall, but he can take it further if he really wants to be a star--he's certainly got a lot of talent.

A very promising small forward/power forward player with a penchance for playing out in the perimeter. Javon is a 6'9" 215 and still growing. Possesses a decent offensive game with some scoring prowess, and has some defensive potential given his movements and willingness to learn. UAB really got a steal with Tomason and pried him away from the hands of other top schools such as UNC and Florida. Averaged 23 points, 11 rebounds and 58% three point percentage at high school. With UAB, Javon will step directly into the starting lineup and is probably ready to contribute.
