NBA Comparison: David West

Strengths: Rugged post player who has a knack for putting the ball to the basket...Very nimble and agile post player, often outquicks taller/slower opponents...Very good at adjusting his shot to the right situation, knows when to shoot hooks, banks, or turnarounds...Very good body control, never gets knocked to the floor/off balance, and always avoids getting blocked...Decent and improving mid-range shot...Always shot over 52% in college so far...Good free throw shooter (77%)...Very good defensive rebounder. Clears the glass and understands how important possessions are for the team...Defensively, draws a lot of charges. Smart defensive IQ and has the lateral quickness to guard perimeter players...Above average quickness for a big man...Runs the floor well...Gets beat up every game but always keeps his composure...

Weaknesses: Not flashy by any means, gets the job done like a worksman...Rarely dunks, prefers the layup in the post even though he gets a lot of them...Only reliable offensive arsenal is the post game, and good defenses can move him to the perimeter where he misses more shots...Mid-range jumper can use some improvement...Doesn't really look to get offensive rebounds, probably because of his offensive responsibility...Defensively, only has mediocre height, athleticism and physical tools, so is a subpar shotblocker, although quickness helps him with defense...Needs to hit the weight room in the NBA. He will get pushed around and if he is to utilize his good post game he will need weight...There are many players like him already in the NBA already...
