NBA Comparison: Earl Watson
Strengths: Stepped into the national scene over the summer after very impressive performances against
future NBA'ers AJ Vanner, Jevin Morris and AJ Shakur...Very tenacious player. Possesses the requisite speed, lateral movement
and overall quickness to stick with his man and finds the motivation to do it...Very quick hands, picks his man's pocket well
and gets a lot of steals...Very good on-the-ball defender...Above average athleticism, will occasionally throw down a dunk
but his athleticism is more evident with his movements and speed...Has improved his outside shot over the past couple of years,
hitting around 40% from threes this season as this profile is being written...Won't miss from the charity stripe...Gets to
the basket fairly easy with first step and quickness...Likes the run-and-gun game...Above average playmaker; gets the bulk
of his assists with the drive-and-dish, utilizing court vision...
Weaknesses: Just started stepping up his play over the summer, and last year he didn't stand out
much...Movement off the ball can stand to be better, doesn't always react to the right situations...Shooting stroke. Doesn't
have the best stroke, a bit of a hitch on his shot with a fairly slow release which might not translate as well to the NBA...Not
a big time scorer or passer in the college level, although he gets it done most of the time...Passing is quite predictable;
not too good passing the ball around, only wants to get the assist for himself, so sometimes he forces the play to happen;needs
to learn how to run a more stabilized offense...A bit turnover prone...General ballhandling skills need work...Drives right
when he attacks the basket, so that is predictable...Just a static shooter, nothing fancy...
