NBA Comparison: Brendan Haywood
Strengths: Rapidly developing center...Has stepped into the spotlight after a fairly uneventful freshman
season...Possesses a good NBA center body, with both height, weight, athleticism and physical tools...Very athletic center,
has a 34' vertical...Plays with a lot of toughness and tenacity...Tries to dunk every ball close to the basket...Very quick
moves, makes up his decision quickly and often catches the opponent off guard...What is probably keeping him as a 1st round
pick is his athleticism though; can do reverses and impressive dunks for a 7-footer...Very strong player, can outmuscle defenders
to score or grab rebounds...Quick reflexes, place nice man defense and is a good shotblocker...
Weaknesses: EXTREMELY foul prone...Was only held to about 20 minutes per game last season because
he picked up fouls at such a huge pace...Needs to learn not to jump on every play and commit cheap fouls...Very raw player,
needs to learn many major concepts of basketball...Although a good man defender, unlike most defenders, does not contribute
much from the weakside...Seems to only get rebounds when motivated, hence is only an average rebounder...Not a good decision
maker...Lacks any semblance of a jumpshot and is a horrible free throw shooter...
