NBA Comparison: Troy Murphy

Strengths: A very mobile forward...Both a bruiser and a finesse player. Rarely do you see that combination in the NBA...Possesses the requisite strength to back down his man and the skills to finish around the paint...Has an assortment of turnarounds, hooks, etc...Finishes with tenacity, very fearless and has a great killer instinct which just cannot be taught...Very good stroke and range up to 18 feet...Stretches the defense with his inside-outside offensive game...Excellent rebounder to boot, uses grit and toughness to corral defensive rebounds, gets about 10 per game in Marquette...Hard worker and plays with a lot of heart...Long body and legs, covers a lot of distance with just a few steps...Good NBA power forward body...

Weaknesses: Doesn't possess much athleticism...Lacks the lift to defend premier NBA PFs at the next level, although his strides help some...Poor defender because of this, whether in man-D, help-D or basic rotations...Seemingly makes poor competition play well against him, at least in college...Although his stroke is good, just an average jumpshooter for a guard although that is good for a power forward...Lacks a first step despite his length. Either he will set up in the post or play in the perimeter...Moves are quite predictable...Rarely passes the ball once he gets it unless he is heavily defended...Quite foul prone...Injury prone as well, missed parts of the last couple of seasons...

Notes: If his injuries still linger, he might be like Curtis Borchardt and be out of the league after a couple of years.
