NBA Comparison: Linas Kleiza
Strengths: A tough player both in terms of physical attributes and demeanor on the court, but has
much talent to back up his appearance...Well-built body with great upper core strength, and much more athleticism than it
would appear...A gym rat. Has spent the past summer building up his athleticism, and it has worked. Can dunk with authority
cutting off the ball, filling the lanes in transition or simply driving to the basket...Deceptive athleticism and spry step
allow him to get to the basket alongside the threat of his shot, and can take contact and finish...Doesn't lose focus often
unlike many players his age, stays committed and active offensively, playing with high energy and aggressive...Talented offensive
player. High percentage shooter, can play off of others as well as create his own offense, making him a good fit for many
an NBA team, and a very rare attribute especially for a player playing for a lower level team...Has much range on his shot
for a supposed big man, already has NBA three point range, good mechanics and follow through, although he doesn't take too
many as of now...Excellent mid-range shooter, a lost art but an added dimension to his game...High basketball IQ. Increases
the intensity of his play of teammates, and has shown ability to score many pts in spurts and bring his team back single handedly...Has
the potential to be a nice scorer in the NBA level...Has gotten rid of the dreaded tweener label that has plagued him two
years ago, and now presents many a mismatch problem for opposing players with the three, the slash, or the cut..Triple threat
nightmare given the right conditions...Solid rebounder, knows the concept of boxing out...Doesn't get pushed around on defense,
and generally stays out of foul trouble...Very consistent...Mentally tough and even looks the part which can be an intimidation
factor for opposing players...
Weaknesses: Has made great strides in his athleticism and in overall development (such as increasing
his range to NBA three very recently), but scouts still have lingering memories about his game prior to that, in which many
considered him only a dime-a-dozen mid-range shooting big man...Perhaps lacks exposure to a certain degree. Plays at one of
the lower level French teams and doesn't get the same degree of exposure as Antoine Surronay, Jakim Dupas and others...Very
talented offensively, but his shot off the dribble needs some work, although he can pull-up from mid-range...NBA three point
shot has shown potential but is not consistent enough as of yet, can be quite streaky even in limited sample space...Doesn't
get great lift on his shot...Has shown little to no post game...Not nifty or slithery. Uses first step to get by his man as
opposed to change of gears. Can get offensive fouls at times when defended well...A mild defensive sieve. Gets caught off
guard by quicker, more athletic swingmen in the perimeter and gets shot over by taller players in the post, and is still very
much a tweener defensively...Not a stealing or shotblocking force, doesn't play passing lanes and has poor reaction time in
reacting to shooters (although to his credit, he doesn't jump much on pump fakes)...Can get trigger happy in perimeter shooting
rather than attacking the basket...Below average passing out of the double team...
