NBA Comparison: Shareef Abdur-Rahim
Strengths: Very solid, all-around fundamentals-sort of player...Thrives in the post area...Likes
to make turnaround jumpshots, hooks and has an assortment of nimble, slithery spin-moves to get easy layups and closer
shots...To an extent, relishes contact and likes to mix it up down low...Positions and uses his body well...Gets to the line
often and also hits over 80% from there...Has always shot over 52% from the field in college...Smart shooter, takes shots
that he knows he is capable of making...Solid rebounder, cleans up the defensive glass extremely well and boxes out consistently...Very
good passer for his position. Before making his move always looks for the best options and is aware of his teammates...Good
at finding cutters and the open three point shooters...Never seems to get winded, plays the bulk of the minutes for his team
and has been relatively injury-free...Has rapidly improved over the course of two seasons at Indiana. Given his progression
he can be capable of getting triple doubles at the next level...
Weaknesses: May not be considered a weakness, but he is not a spectacular player...Rarely dunks,
tends to only go for the "soft' layup...Has had the "soft" tag label on him ever since high school but he dispelled that notion
last year...Not a good defender, not due to lack effort, but simply lacks the athleticism/physical tools to guard the NBA's
next generation power forwards...Pitiful shotblocker for his size even at the college level...For a player who hits free throws
at such a high clip he is a below average mid-range shooter, although this can be attributed to the fact that he plays 80%
of his offensive game in the post because his team needs that...Doesn't really care to go after offensive rebounds...Measurements
will be key, as he has been listed as 6'8" in the past...Has had the trouble of off-the-court issues in the past, and this
may not be tolerated in the NBA...
