NBA Comparison: Anthony Parker
Strengths: Phenomenal all-around player who excels playing under the team offense...Has drastically
improved his shooting stroke from his freshman year, having made that (now) a major staple of his game after tireless dedication
shooting in the gym...Plays extremely well off the ball and uses screens and decoys well to hit straightaway catch-and-shoot
shots...Has become a lethal outside shooter from the college level (45%), albeit on only an average sample space, but could
translate well to the NBA level...Very good spot up shooter....Intelligent decision maker who rarely turns the ball over.
Effortlessly plays within the team offense, it's like he was built for it, helped with his good ballhandling skills...Solid
court vision...Cool veins. Very patient and plays like a veteran which is special especially coming from a mid-major team.
Doesn't have a good coach but appears to be very disciplined and organized...Very apt defensive player. Great at drawing charges
and reacting to what the opposing offense gives him. Above average lateral quickness...Solid man-to-man defender...Solid build
as of now, a bit weak but has the ability to add 20-30 more lbs. Already has a good upper body meaning he won't get pushed
on the chest at defense much...Good endurance level helped by the fact that he is not very foul prone means that he is capable
of playing many minutes per contest...Quite versatile...Smooth athlete...Won't hurt the team much...Has no great flaws...
Weaknesses: Merely a role player on the next level; all-around players of his mold however tend to
be the missing piece for many playoff teams...Playing for Austin Peay, a mid-major team, means that his stats tend to be bloated.
Doesn't face very stiff competition with a fairly lax schedule, and he is often able to ease his way into statistical categories...Not
a prolific scorer, rebounder or passer by any standards. Will contribute in every statistical category however each game...Rarely
takes the risk type plays one grows accustomed to in the NBA game. Slashes off cuts and in transition but never forces the
issue in this regard...Not overly adept at getting to the free throw line due to rather passive offensive play, but this is
also not helped with his lack of great athleticism, lack of great vertical, lack of great first step and lack of current weight...Can
still get pushed around due to weight problems but not a huge problem as of now...Rarely looks to create his own shot...Lacks
a killer instinct. Seems to back away from responsibility when the game is on the line...Odd situation is despite his high
basketball IQ he has had some off-the-court problems stemming from his high school years, meaning that there are several red
flags as well....Defense is fundamentally sound but lacks the aforementioned standout athleticism to make a great difference...Lacks
great potential. Plays quite paced and is a systems player, meaning that depending on how the team uses him he may or may
not excel in an NBA setting right away...
Notes: Originally was accepted into the University of Memphis as supposed heir apparent to the soon-to-be-departing
Willy Andersley, but his off-the-court issues scared many Division-I teams off, paving the way for his current tenure at Austin
Peay. Intrigued some scouts with a solid performances throughout much of the year, and had his own personal breakout game
against Siena even putting up a rare triple double with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
