NBA Comparison: Brian Scalabrine
Marcin is not an interesting player or a "sexy" NBA prospect at any stretch of the imagination, but
he does have that serviceable yet atypical European attribute of being a big man who can shoot with range, even from NBA three
point distances. He's not an extremely prolific shooter from distance yet, but he has the range, and it's not totally inconceivable
that he can become a fairly pure shooter from this year as that's the only "fairly" unique attribute he brings to the table.
A Slovenian prospect hailing from the confines of Maribor, Marcin sorely lacks footspeed and athleticism, making him a woeful
defender, and one who is fairly foul prone at that. He has some basketball IQ in relating how to get open for threes but his
offensive game limits him there; is mid-range game is merely average, and his paint game is nonexistent, as he lacks the ability
to drive consistently and the strength/savviness to operate there. He has deceptive strength if he were an SF, but he
is definitely not one, and for the PF he is severely underweight. Really a tweener type, Marcin's string of
solid games shooting is what has caught some scouts' attention. Could be a good prospect to stash overseas to see if
he develops, unless he has some sort of explosion sometime soon.
