NBA Comparison: Sasha Pavlovic
Strengths: Strong, buff player with a great build (just put on 20 lbs. over the summer lifting weights)...A
true gym rat, works to build up his body...Turns it on and off, but potentially can be a matchup nightmare against most wings...Has
the capability of filling up the basket with his slashes and his good shooting touch...Very good athleticism for a European.
Loves to run in transition game, finishes well even with contact due to strength...Good slasher, uses the threat of his shot
combined with a very good first step to get to the basket...More than decent shooter, gets prime elevation at his apex with
a solid stroke primarily at standstill positions...Range extends to the NBA three point line...Has some tenacity as a defensive
player, very capable shotblocker who can stay on the grill of his man all the way and react for the block...Can become a very
good defensive player at the next level, and a capable offensive player...Very good build for a SF, with the height and weight
necessary to play that position in the next level...Great endurance in the EuroLeagues, capable of playing many minutes at
a time without needing a breather...
Weaknesses: Very inconsistent between games, sometimes does not show up, simply lives off his flashes
of potential within some games...Has the skill set and the body build, but hasn't put it all together; leaves you wanting
more, especially since his team underachieves and he hasn't helped their cause...Moves well around the floor and can be active
at times, but extremely hesitant and rather negligent of the basketball responsibility at others...Can afford to develop a
post game to take advantage of the smaller players he faces...Currently, an average defender at best. Doesn't exactly put
the best effort in this area, gives too much spacing and doesn't have the best decision-making on defense; likes to make last
minute defensive plays which could come back and bite him...A solid but not a great shooter, cannot be expected to hit every
open shot, and can be inconsistent at spurts...Plays worse at a slower tempo game but improving at this aspect...
Notes: One of the top players in the 1988 draft class. Can be the first player from Belarus to make
it to the league.
