NBA Comparison: Andre Iguodala
Black's NBA strengths mostly upon his potential with his skill set. He's not much of a scorer, but
he finds ways to make an impact on the offensive side of the court due to his smarts, intangibles, and his willingness to
move off the ball. He loves to circle near the painted area, exploiting opportunities when the defense is drawn away from
him. Once there, he is capable of using his nice athleticism and length for electric dunks, with his preference being the
lob pass. Black also has fairly good ballhandling skills (at least for the high school level) and he's extremely unselfish,
never overhandling the ball and always relinquishing it to less talented players. His defense on-the-ball is above average
at this point, using his natural athleticism and length to smother opponents, showing a good hand at getting steals as well.
He has an all-around skill set which may certainly translate to the NBA, as well as the athleticism and the transition game
skills which the current NBA preaches.
One of Black's major concerns is his weight, or lack thereof; at 175 lbs, he sorely needs at least
25-30 more lbs. for the NBA. He's still quite raw at this stage, not ready for the NBA by any means whether in body or in
game, and he has a habit of floating around when he doesn't receive the ball for extended periods of time. His jumpshot is
extremely poor at this stage, no other way to slice it. He has good form, but little stroke. He can stand to be more selfish
offensively, such as in attacking the basket and doing more with the ball in his hands--he hasn't exactly abused his competition
when he should be able to. He's somewhat aloof as well--not known to get along witht teammates, which may spell for some chemistry
problems. Killer instinct may be a problem, but he has all the assets to be a star in the NBA.
