NBA Comparison: Jorge Garbajosa
Strengths: Plays an unorthodox yet effective style of game which
could potentially be a unique one in the NBA...Good three point shooter with a fairly quick release, loves to spot up for
three pointers in set offenses especially from the top of the key...Clutch. Nails three point daggers in college time and
again as the sophomore leader of his team, and capable of draining threes with regularity and getting hot from distance...Extreme
tenacity. Loves to follow missed shots, whether it's his own or his teammate's, getting a good share of offensive rebounds
per game...Excels in scoring off the offensive rebound, whether by tip-ins or scoring due to sheer strength. Capable of getting
his own offensive rebound off his own missed three pointer...Good overall rebounder...Solid athleticism, doesn't float, knows
how to move and make cuts from the paint to the post and vice versa and ward away defenders, make himself available...Good
strength for his size, draws fouls quite a bit and can get to the line making his cuts/getting offensive rebounds...Puts it
all on the line in terms of hustling ability...Has some court vision and can find the open man playing at his speed...Can
fill up the stat sheet, getting to the line, hitting threes, rebounding, passing, etc....
Weaknesses: Plays with a sort of reckless abandon which may not
adjust well to the NBA...Doesn't get his body under control very often, his balance is a bit subpar as he tends to fall
to the ground and "flop" a lot despite his weight (probably because he wants to play that way)...Takes too many three
pointers off set offenses which could end up being quite predictable for defenders; can get streaky from three point range
especially if his shot is contested; needs others to create his jumpshot...Tends to rush his jumpshot at times knowing that
he will chase after the miss...Cannot create his own shot...Shaky ballhandling ability. Rarely drives to the basket and gets
to the middle of the lane, chooses to stand at the three point line or rush to the middle of the paint for tip-ins...Looks
awkward at times in the paint, doesn't always look prepared to make his move...Tends to yield up a lot of turnovers and fouls
each game getting out of control/offensive fouls/etc....No back-to-the-basket game because he always prefers to face up...Inconsistent
free throw shooter...Defense is questionable even though he hustles, lacks the lateral footspeed/great athleticism to keep
up with players in the perimeter...May be a tweener in the NBA because he has a PF body on a SF height, but he will probably
be a combo forward...
