NBA Comparison: Steve Francis

Strengths: Electric and explosive...41' vertical, easily dunks over bigger players and is probably one of the most athletic players in the NCAA right now...Dunks a lot every game and has had many notable posturizes during his college tenure...His combination of bulk and speed is extremely intriguing...Lightning quick and killer first step allows him to attack the basket easily, and knows how to contort his body and use his strength to finish/draw fouls...Deadly transition player, finishes extremely well...Has improved his spot-up shooting from past seasons, now a respectable mid-range shooter...Amazing rebounder, pulled double digit rebounds in 1/3 of the games last year...Gets double-doubles fairly easily in college...Exhibits grit and tenacity in corraling rebounds, and his explosiveness lets him outjump bigger players...In terms of physical tools he's all the NBA ever wanted...

Weaknesses: Somewhat positionless in the NBA, a "tweener" as he has virtually no PG skills (mostly played SF in college) but doesn't have the requisite shooting ability of a SG...Improving shooter but still lacks a good three point shooter and is still a little below average in mid-range game...His most effective means of offense is based upon attacking the basket; he may not get the same looks in the NBA playing against bigger (and smarter) defenders...Has all the physical tools to become a defensive stopper but hasn't become that yet...Hasn't shown much court vision during his time at UNC...Fairly low basketball IQ, always looks to go full-steam to the basket a bit too much...Injury prone, missed half the season the year before...
