NBA Comparison: Carlos Arroyo
Strengths: Pure point guard who excels in flashy plays and drawing the defense towards him...Possesses
extremely good court vision to the point that he naturally abuses it, and in his high school level simply knows how to shred
apart defenses and use his keen passing ability to hit cutters or find the open man...Knows how to make plays happen and find
the open man at the same time...Excels in a fast-pace moving game, capable of helping his team score in bunches real well...Highly
unselfish, knows how to orchestrate an offense and knows when to turn the offense on and surprise the opposition...An assist
waiting to happen...Good first step, unpredictability and heart allow him to get to the basket when need be...Capable of finishing
soft around the basket with layups and floaters...Solid shooter who can hit mid-range jumpshots off the dribble...Seems to
have college three point range as of now...Knows how to get into a crouching defensive stance....Good leadership skills...
Weaknesses: Height is definitely going to backfire on him; at 6'0", doesn't fit today's trend of
growing NBA PGs, and may be 5'11" rather than 6'...Not real athletic to make up for his height deficiencies, utilizes quickness,
heart and creativity more to get things done...Doesn't get much lift on his jumpshot, and jumpshot tends to come out flat,
may need to improve these two aspects to get his shot off better in the NBA level, but this is magnified even more with his
lack of height...Doesn't have NBA three point range as of now, tends to abuse his slashing and drive-and-dish abilities to
the point where his own jumpshot suffers somewhat...Poor wingspan (6'2") and doesn't have much ups to make up for it...Defense
tends to be a bit inefficient despite the fact that he tries, just doesn't have good lateral quickness and the height to match
up well against opponents...Suffers from getting rather inconsistent playing time at his high school, perhaps suffers from
a bit of underexposure...
Notes: Was labeled as one of the top 5 high school PGs coming out of New York. Learned several streetball
moves which he has implemented into his game from Rucker Park. Has sleepy, smallish eyes causing many to dub him 'Sleepy-Eyes"
(like T-Mac) as his nickname.
