NBA Comparison: Qyntel Woods

Strengths: Very solid athlete, with a chiseled build but still maintaining his fluidity and smoothness at the same time...Slashes to the basket well with a solid first step...Something that hasn't seemed to be on display during his high school years is his outside shot. Possesses a smooth outside stroke, capable of hitting well from college three point distances (37%) and from mid-range as well...Possesses marvelous ballhandling skills for a small forward, and he usually uses this to create offense for himself efficiently or slash to the basket...Excellent mid-range shooter off the dribble, perhaps even better than in standstill positions...Has displayed some post-up ability, primarily likes to fade away in his shot after contact...NBA body especially with physique....Seems to play effortlessly on the court, and there are flashes of definite NBA potential in some of his offensive moves...

Weaknesses: Good athlete, but not really great...Athleticism is more prevalent in his slashing to the basket, getting high elevation on his shot...Solid vertical and wingspan, but not great...Very smooth player to the point that he has been chastised (especially in high school) for playing without much effort, which can be the case because he may drift when he's not getting enough touches, doesn't move off the ball real well...Not capable of making plays for others or playing a real cohesive team game, has somewhat of a me-first attitude leading him to take shots for himself...May be prone to taking more jumpshots than attacking the basket, can shy away from bodily contact at times in his slashes and doesn't make the proper readjustments leading to missed layups...NBA-three point range is questionable at this point....Very talented but doesn't seem to realize the extent of his talents, being rather complacent in taking a role player's role; when LSU needed a man second-fiddle to Suran Shawe after Duran Douglas went down with injury, just failed to step up despite having a very solid freshman year....

Notes: Has expressed some interest in the NBA after high school, but decided to attend LSU because he felt that he needed to polish up his game.
