NBA Comparison: Fred Hoiberg
Strengths: Solid all-around player whose primary asset is shooting, secondary asset defense, and
third asset passing ability...One of the most underrated shooters in the nation, and although he doesn't take too many to
warrant a large enough sample space at this point in time, has hit roughly 50% of his three pointers the past two seasons...Excellent
spot-up shooter from both three point range and mid-range...Utilizes screens well to get off his shot coupled with good mechanics...Possesses
the mobility to keep up with his defenders, combined with the fact that he keeps himself in top shape and thus has good endurance
level, doesn't seem to tire out much and plays paced defense--not too strenuous, not too lax....Solid anticipation skills
help him get some steals each game...Above average court vision for a wing guard, very unselfish, relinquishes shots to get
others involved and can run an offense semi-decently...Not foul prone or turnover prone, handles the ball well and never forces
the issue...Great free throw shooter (85%)...
Weaknesses: Not an athletic or overly quick player, limiting his NBA potential a few notches as he
won't be overly sufficient against other NBA players both offensively and defensively...Plays a paced style which is effective
in the college game but which won't nearly translate as well in the NBA...Plays within the offense and within his limitations,
taking good shots, exploiting passing opportunities and playing solid defense, but nothing really over the top...Can clearly
be a better scorer in his college team but doesn't choose to do so...Slow release in his jumpshot may present troubles for
him...Attacks the basket opportunistically, never forces slashing opportunities...Probably a solid role player at the next
level...
