NBA Comparison: Jarvis Hayes
Strengths: A well-built player with a solid stroke...One of the best mid-range shooters in all of
college basketball. Possesses a stroke of beauty, with the same rotation...Capable of shooting off the curl, off screens,
or just spotting up...Has NBA three point range, capable shooter from there when given space...Very good free throw shooter
(85%)...Smooth athleticism, can drive to the basket at ease when defensive pressure is not an issue...Good NBA-build, with
the prototypical wing body and good lower body weight which doesn't make him get pushed too often defensively...Sound defensively
at this stage in time...
Weaknesses: Besides his mid-range jumpshot, he lacks a standout skill that makes him really attractive
for the NBA, and even so the mid-range jumpshot is not given as much value to as other aspects...Athleticism is smooth but
quite average, not one who will excel in transition or dazzle with electrifying dunks...On offense, he lacks a great first
step coupled with a lack of ballhandling skills. Doesn't really attack the basket well in the half-court setting unless he
is given space...Ballhandling skills are undeveloped, so he also struggles in creating his own shot which may be necessary
for him in the next level...Not real good at getting to the line...Average three point shooter, struggles even more without
an open look...Seems to lack a killer instinct, with his physical tools and natural talents should do more than what he's
doing, but maybe that would come in time...Below average court vision for a swingman, which raises questions whether he's
really suited for the SF position...Quite injury prone, missed some games this season and chunks of last season fighting a
dislocated finger, sore legs, etc....
