NBA Comparison: Taller Mike Bibby
Strengths: Impressive point guard who showed the ability to conform to team needs in his freshman
year, whether by showing the mentality of a pure scorer, a pure passer or a little bit of both...Early on in the season showed
great distributing ability, whether by making the fancy dish, behind-the-back, drive-and-dish or off general passing...Possesses
great court vision and smooth ballhandling skills, using craftiness and a paced style which defenders find hard to adjust
to...Later in the season showed an aggressive scoring mentality, always looking to get off his shot for better or for worse...Moves
well off the ball offensively, utilizing screens to hit jumpshots off the dribble...Very good three point shooter, especially
from standstill positions...Also uses craftiness in offense, can utilize a change of pace to make it look like he's attacking
the basket but rather pulling up for the mid-range jumpshot, and vice-versa...Puts himself in decent triple threat positions,
likes to play mind games with his opponent offensively...Can erupt and score in bunches, getting hot offensively with his
smooth jumpshot, stroke and mechanics...Good free throw shooter (82%) and capable of getting to the line at a decent clip...Stocky
point guard with decent build, with decent strength and good height...Has improved defensively a little bit...As sound a point
guard as they come, very fundamentally sound with good knowledge of the game...Has a good desire to win, rarely are these
qualities seen in a point guard...
Weaknesses: The more shots he generally takes and the more selfish he gets, the more streaky his
shot becomes...Shouldered the offensive responsibility for the 2nd half of the season when DaLeel White went down with a
season-ending injury and became more of a volume scorer, taking many shots just to score many points...May be prone to attacking
ill-advised shots out of the context of the offense...May be very cold from the field some nights, and even so he would not
stop shooting...A very sound point guard, but sometimes takes the shot when the pass would have been the better option...Can
be a good passer and scorer at the same game, but hasn't done so consistently as he was in an either/or mode for most of the
season...Average athleticism...Horrible defensively, a bit slow in footwork and doesn't put the most concerted effort to fight
through defenses, and athleticism plays a factor here...Most of his strengths are based on craft and skill set, not on physical
tools...
