NBA Comparison: Smaller Ronald Murray
Strengths: Very athletic and quick small guard with great explosiveness and attack the basket ability...At
his best in transition game. Has great top speed and momentum, a blur on the court and most defenders cannot keep up with
him, dunks frequently in an open court setting even for his size...In half-court sets, utilizes a lightning quick first step
to get a step on his man, and does a good job with breaking defenders down off the dribble to slash to the basket...Nifty
ballhandling skills in creating for himself offensively...His ability to finish in traffic is NBA-level, does not have the
strength but his speed and creativity around the basket more than makes up for it...Can be hot offensively at times, his success
in attacking the basket often dictates the effectiveness of his jumpshot...An on-and-off defender, but when he is on, he is
capable of sticking with his man with his speed and gets a lot of deflections with his large hands and ball awareness for
steals...Can stay on the floor for extended periods of time as he never seems to get tired...Rarely picks up fouls...
Weaknesses: At 6-0 and very little point guard skills, that is a huge turnoff for the NBA...Not comfortable
as playmaker, tends to disappear offensively and has problems with decision making especially between shooting and passing
when he was Hofstra's point guard...Has never played in a true cohesive team game running the show at Hofstra, he mostly freewheeled
around with his offense at college..At his best when he's focused for himself offensively, ultimately has a me-first attitude
which are shared by many combo guards in the NBA, so that would not bode well for him...Can look lost at the court defensively
at times, not especially good at rotation defense...Height is a huge detriment even if he is guarding an NBA PG, will be a
post-up target with his diminutive frame...May be burned on one-on-one defense at times, doesn't put great effort in this
area...Jumpshot lacks consistency. Has decent mechanics and confidence, but lacks concentration and has problems shooting
over bigger defenders...Doesn't make the best decisions offensively, even though he's the first option of the team...A volume
player, needs touches to be truly effective, may have trouble conforming to become a role player in the NBA...
Evaluation: His lack of height coupled with his inability to pass, shoot, or defend extremely well
are huge knocks against him. Most of his appeal is based on his great speed and athleticism.
Pessimistic Comparisons: Ronnie Price, Will Bynum
